What is an animated GIF?
GIF is an acronym for Graphics Interchange Format, in French "Image Exchange Format". A name ideally chosen because it is one of the most shared image formats on the web. In particular, it owes its popularity to the Tumblr social network, on which Internet users dedicate whole blogs to the publication of animated GIFs.
It is therefore a digital image format for making short animations rotating in a loop.
How to make an animated GIF with photoshop?
Photoshop allows you to create a GIF from a video:
- Open Photoshop.
- Choose File / Import / Video To Layer and select a video.
- In Image / Image Size, determine the GIF dimensions.
- Click File / Save for Web and choose GIF format, and then Save.
