The Meizu MX6 has been one of the best-selling Meizu-branded devices last year, and its successor has just popped up online. Well, the Meizu MX6’s alleged successor, that is, as we’re not sure this is the actual devices Meizu plans to release. The Meizu MX7 is expected to land in July, though it remains to be seen if that will happen or not, considering that Meizu already missed the release timeframe for the Meizu PRO 7 which was expected to land last month.
Now, if you take a look at the provided image, you’ll be able to see the alleged Meizu MX7 smartphone. The company’s multifunctional mBack physical key is placed below the display, and it will double as a fingerprint scanner. Now, when it comes to the phone’s general shape, it resembles previous Meizu-branded phones, but the bezels are considerably thinner on this phone compared to Meizu’s previous devices, not to mention that the sides of this phone seem to be every so slightly curved, so we can basically expect to see a 2.5D curved glass on top of its display. Unfortunately, we don’t get to see the back side of this smartphone, but the front side looks somewhat promising, as many people are expecting Meizu to change their design language a bit, and trim down those bezels.
So, what about its specs? Well, not many Meizu MX7 spec leaks surfaced in the last couple of weeks, or months, actually, but we can always speculate, of course. The Meizu MX6 was fueled by the Helio X20 64-bit deca-core processor by MediaTek, so it’s possible that Meizu plans to include its successor, the Helio X30 in this smartphone. On the other hand, Meizu and Qualcomm finally signed a licensing deal at the end of last year, so it’s also possible that we’ll see a Snapdragon SoC inside of this phone. The device will probably ship with 4GB of RAM on the inside, and you can expect to see a single camera sensor on its back. A Type-C USB port will be placed on the bottom of the Meizu MX7, and a 3.5mm headphone jack will probably also be a part of the package.
